Counsel Corner: It Is Finally Time To Get Ready For Finals

December 1, 2010 by Eaglecorps911

By Raven Halliwell
It is that time again folks; time to stock up on smokes, coffee and Red Bull.
The time for finals and last-minute makeups is once again upon us.
Instead of all-nighters to get those last few assignments in before it is too late to get credit or studying until your brain explodes in your head, try taking these pointers.
First of all, be aware of the facilities available on campus. There are learning assistants, who are basically free tutors. Even smart people use them for that little extra something special.

Building A Mosiac To Help Others

“Have you ever heard of Turner’s syndrome?“
That is what Sarah Sakowski, Alpha Pi Theta Honor Society’s vice president of scholarship asked at a board meeting over the summer, while PTK was in the beginning stages of planning its honors in action project. A few were familiar, but did not know the details of the disease.

The Beginnging Of The End For Harry Potter

December 1, 2010 by Eaglecorps911

By Cody Smith
Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 is the first part in the epic two-part conclusion to one of the greatest film franchises of all time, as well as a large part of my childhood.
I still remember my dad taking me to see The Sorcerer's Stone a decade ago.
The whole crew is back as the story continues from #6 with Harry in search of horcruxes to defeat Lord Voldomort.
I won’t get into plot and spoil anything for anyone hopefully.
Deathly Hallows comes off as the darkest Harry Potter yet.

‘Due’ Go Out And See This Movie

December 1, 2010 by Eaglecorps911

By Mary Brienza
“Due Date” was very funny and surprised me with a few touching moments.
I thought that Robert Downey Jr. and Zack Galifianakis had great chemistry as mismatched travel companions forced to drive from Atlanta to Los Angeles.
Downey is Peter Highman, an architect who must make it from Atlanta to L.A to be there as his wife gives birth to their first child, after being kicked off a plane and placed on a no-fly list.

A Very Rauchy But Funny Laugh At Laugh

December 1, 2010 by Eaglecorps911

I had the pleasure to be entertained by and meet a great comedian in the Navesink Room of The Student Life Center.
His name is KT Tatara, who has been featured on Comedy Central and recently landed a spot on the primetime show “How I Met Your Mother.”
As KT took the stage and made his first wise crack about the Brookdale cheerleader sitting in the front row, I knew it was going to be a hilariously funny but raunchy show.

MCR’s ‘Danger Days’ A Good Sign For The Future

December 1, 2010 by Eaglecorps911

By Brian Harris
“Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys” is Jersey-bred My Chemical Romance’s follow up to “The Black Parade”.
For fans of the band that have been with MCR from “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love” up to now, “Danger Days” is a completely different look and showing from the band. Gone are the marching band from hell clothes and cookie-cutter lyrics about misery. They’ve been replaced by flashiness and heart-pumping rock ‘n’ roll.

How To Get Your Flirt On And Be Sucessful

December 1, 2010 by Eaglecorps911

By Jet Lu
“Dammit. That guy took my girl.” Sound familiar to you? What? You say this a lot? You’re pathetic. Did you even try flirting with the girl? You did?! Then that means there is a pretty good chance that you don’t know how to flirt or you just suck at it.

The Static Page

It’s a pretty safe assumption to make that anyone who has more than a passing interest in sports has put together their all-time favorite team at some point. The premise of picking an all-time team has stirred many an argument between people who are seated on barstools.
From simply picking what you feel are the best players at the position to picking players that who mesh well as a team, there’s different ways to figuring out your all-time team.
