Jersey Blues Women's Soccer Finish Season As Regional Champs

     The Brookdale women’s soccer team wrapped up their regular season with a 5-1 victory against Sussex on Oct. 15. The team finished the season with a 14-1 record overall and went undefeated in the Garden State Athletic Conference. The team was also ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division III rankings at the end of the regular season.

Appellate Court To Trustees: 'Reverse and Remand' Lawrence Decision

     On May 4, 2012, the Board of Trustees at Brookdale met in a closed session and decided to terminate athletic director Frank Lawrence after stating that Lawrence violated the school’s “code of ethics” policy regarding cash management procedures while working the 2011 Shore Conference Tournament. Lawrence had been paid $200 cash for his services as site director.

Last Call For N/A Happy Hour As Founder Retires

     After 20 years, the “Non-Alcoholic Happy Hour” at BCC will come to an end.
The event was started by Nurse Gwendolyn Evans, who will be retiring this year.  Evans started the event under Dr. Donald Dickson.
     “The belief was that we could educate students so they would socialize with each other and enjoy themselves without overindulging alcohol or other substance use,” said Evans.

     For over 2 years I have been voicing my concerns about the actions taken by the Brookdale Board of Trustees against Frank Lawrence. I wanted to make sure you had the latest update on this sad saga. The Appellate Division of the NJ Superior Court has reversed the Trustees' decision to terminate his employment, and remanded it back to them. Attached is a summary of the decision.
