Halloween hit Brookdale early with the Student Life Board’s annual Halloween party Thursday, Oct.24.
Kicking things off at 7 p.m., the Navesink Rooms in the Student Life Center slowly filled with creatures of the night. People arrived dressed as Power Rangers, superheroes, werewolves, and characters of all sorts to the event. All participants who dressed in costume were given a free ticket towards the Haunted Theatre tours occurring the same night.
Photos were taken of participants dancing and posing in front of a spooky backdrop. Taking people’s portraits just outside was Layla Taqi, an 18-year-old, first-semester special education major from Old Bridge. She stated that she “loved seeing people so happy. It’s a fun time and I’m definitely doing this next year or with any opportunity I could take.” The shots were later posted on the Student Life Board’s official Facebook page.
Tables scattered the room and the dance floor buzzed with commotion. The DJ played a wide assortment of pop music and would switch songs every other minute to keep things fresh and new. Complimentary glowsticks were given out to guests to help set the party in motion.
Owen Daly, a 25-year-old, fourth-semester media studies major from Oakhurst, touched on the highlights of the party, saying the “cupcakes were splendiferous! They did a really good job decorating. They had a good spread (of food) and I had fun dancing.”
