With five returning from last year’s conference champions, ten talented incoming freshmen, and a NCAA Division I transfer, the Lady Blues could be considered one of the conference favorites this year.   The Lady Blues look to pick up where they left off last year, as reigning Garden State Athletic Conference champs. The team will strive on the leadership from the returning Alyssa Fiorillo and Devin Hope, who led the team to an overall record of 10-5-2 (3-1-1 GSAC.) The team will also receive guidance and direction from Sara Shaughnessy, a transfer from Farleigh Dickenson University.   Fiorillo and Jacqui Rucci were All-Region XIX and All-GSAC second team. Also All-GSAC second team members included forward Angeles Pantoja. Pantoja  will be faced with the daunting task of replacing All-Region and All-GSAC first team member Christine Wilhelm, who finished out her eligibility last season.   To have a deep recruiting class is always positive; however it takes hard work to make the group cohesive.  “We are stronger than we were last year when I looked at the total roster. It is always difficult when we have a lot of talent to replace. But, with the incoming talent we have this year combined with our returners from last year, our team has the tools to be a success,” said 14th-year head coach Frank Lawrence. “It’s nice to have the talent, but the hard part is trying to piece the puzzle together.”
With the tools given to Lawrence, the favor has been returned to the girls with a solid coaching staff.  We can start with Lawrence’s record that speaks for itself. This will be his 14th year coaching, he has brought home three Region XIX titles, seven GSAC titles, seven GSAC coach of the year awards,  and Two Region XIX Coach of the  Year awards.
