If you are a Brookdale student and you feel that you would be interested in governing and representing the student body, planning and marketing school events, making fiscal decisions and financial allocations, and you are looking for a way to get involved, joining the Student Life Board is a great way to do so.
Experience is not required and you can decide your own level of involvement, so please don’t hesitate to stop by! The Board meets every Monday at noon in SLC 110.
The Student Life Board  had a great semester and is looking forward to some exciting events that will be taking place this spring!
Our Speak Out was a success!  We discussed the concerns and desires that the student body has expressed regarding the cafeteria and the bookstore.
The administration has agreed to allow a student to join both the Bookstore Advisory Committee and the Food Service R.F.P. Review Committee.  We have managed to present students with the unprecedented opportunity to continually advocate for their needs at administration meetings.
The Halloween Dance was another wonderful success. Over 200 people attended this year in comparison to last year’s attendance of 180.
We had a great time at the dance, and we look forward to holding similar events in the future.
We are especially excited for our Hurricane Sandy Relief Dodgeball Tournament!  The tournament will take place on April 11, 2013.
An effort to begin collecting a range of supplies for     Hurricane Sandy relief will begin this spring.  Please help to make the Brookdale Rebuilds effort a success by donating, volunteering or assisting in any way you can.  We are currently discussing the details of the operation, but we will be sure to broadcast them to the Brookdale Community as soon as they are worked out.
Robert Quinones, director of Student Life & Activities, is challenging every club and student group at Brookdale Community College to a semester long Director's Challenge.  The club that raises the most money for the foundation's Sandy Fund between now and April 15, 2013 will win a $200 cash prize and be recognized at the Gold Star Awards Ceremony at the end of the year.
