The Brookdale women’s soccer team, currently ranked ninth in the nation, landed six players on the All-Region XIX teams, as voted on by the head coaches.
Headlining the list for the Jersey Blues is a pair of Howell natives, forward Sara Shaughnessy and defender Devin Hope were both named to the first team.
Shaughnessy, ranked 24th in the nation in scoring, led the team with 37 points (15 goals and seven assists).
Hope was the anchor in a defense that allowed only 12 goals all year. Recording her first goal of the year, Hope knocked the game-winner in against Bucks on Sept. 23.
Earning second-team honors was goalie Elyse Umansky (Freehold), who recorded 108 stops in 1,427 minutes of play.
Her saves place her second on the charts of NJCAA rankings; while the saves against average (0.69) is ranked ninth.
Receiving her second nod in as many years, sophomore midfielder Alyssa Fiorillo (Howell) earned her place on the third team after scoring eight goals and setting up four others.
Rounding out the third team are freshman for-ward Catherine Lovallo (Old Bridge), who scored 10 goals this year, and defender Aly Kent (Forked River), an integral part of a defense who outscored its opponents 47-12.
Additioanlly, Hope and Shaughnessy were named to the All-Garden State Athletic Conference first team, while Lovallo and Umansky earned a spot on the second team.
