Marquis Cox and Lauren Rome were the winners of the Freehold Area Running Club’s 27th Annual St. Paddy’s 8K Run March 13. This year’s race started and finished inside Michael Tighe Park in Freehold Township and took runners along the backroads of Freehold Township on the out-and-back course.

CBA promotes Mulligan to boys soccer head coach

The Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) Athletic Department has found the replacement for its legendary boys soccer coach, Dan Keane, and it didn’t need to look very far.

The Colts’ assistant coach, Tom Mulligan, has been named the new head coach of the powerful CBA varsity soccer program. Mulligan is a CBA graduate (Class of 1983) who played under Keane.

Planning for parade begins in Matawan

Monmouth County budget shows $4.5M drop in taxes

The Monmouth County 2016 proposed budget reflects cuts in spending and in taxes.

As introduced by the Board of Freeholders in February, the county’s budget has decreased from $488 million in 2015 to $469.85 million in 2016 — a decrease in spending of $18.1 million.
