‘Becket’ auditions slated for Jan. 27, 28

HOLMDEL — The Holmdel Theatre Company has announced open call auditions for its April production of Jean Anouilh’s “Becket.” All roles are open, and several performers of all ethnicities age 13-80 are needed.

Auditions are set for 7 p.m. Jan. 27 and 28 at the Duncan Smith Theatre, 36 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel. Callbacks will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 30.

Mayor’s Food Basket fills pantry’s shelves

MIDDLETOWN — With the support of the community, the Mayor’s Food Basket added more than three tons of food to the Middletown Food Pantry this holiday season.

More than 6,500 pounds of food have been donated since Thanksgiving. Donors included residents, youth groups, businesses and community and civic organizations.

The Hub Kings to perform in Matawan

Bayshore groups seek funds to test water quality

Members of the Bayshore Regional Watershed Council and NY/NJ Baykeeper are hoping to secure funding that will assist in the monitoring of local waters for harmful pathogens.

Recently, the NY/NJ Baykeeper applied for a grant from the New York-New Jersey Harbor & Safety Estuary Program in the hopes of obtaining a more complete picture of recreational water quality in the harbor.
